Why should you sell your mobile phone to Mazuma?
We’re confident that we are the best place for you to sell your mobile phones. There are a whole heap of reasons why you should choose Mazuma, but to put it simply; the price you’re quoted is the price you will get, and quickly too. We guarantee our quotes and make payments as quickly as possible, often on the same day your phone arrives at Mazuma.
We don’t have any hidden fees or hidden conditions, delete your data and we recycle any device that’s sent to us with the environment in mind.
Why should I recycle my phone?
Recycling your phone is a big step to improving your green credentials. Modern smartphones are full of precious metals and materials. These materials can have a negative impact on the environment if they end up in landfills, as they can produce toxic chemicals that may seep into the soil or water. If this happens it can have an adverse effect on the food chain, or have harmful effects on humans and animals alike.
Recycling your phone, and either prolonging the life of your device or having its parts reused can stop both this dangerous seepage and stop the need for the manufacture of new handsets, which in turn will create more waste.
Keep your old phone out of the landfill and recycle with Mazuma.
What will happen to my phone?
When you sell your phone to Mazuma we recycle it. But ‘recycling’ can be different depending on both the type of phone and the condition it’s in when you sell it to us. If your phone is still in good working order, we’ll probably just give it a bit of a polish and refresh and then find a new home for it. 90% of the phones we buy stay in the country as second-hand devices.
Some handsets will go overseas to be resold and a few remaining phones will be broken down into parts and safely disposed of if needs be.
Every phone we receive through our excellent phone recycling service is thoroughly checked and wiped of any data before being processed.
Can I sell my broken phone?
Absolutely! You can sell your broken phone to Mazuma for cash the same way you sell us another old phone.
We accept mobile phones with broken screens, batteries and ones that don’t power on. Obviously it may affect how much we can pay you, but we’re still happy to help you recycle your broken phone.
Check out our full list of criteria for what we do and don’t accept when you sell your broken phone to us.
How much is my device worth?
The amount you get for your device will depend on the model and the condition of the device. For example, a brand new Apple iPhone or the latest Samsung Galaxy will fetch significantly more than a 5 year old iPhone with a cracked screen, for instance.
When we are looking at the condition of your device, it falls into three categories; good, poor and faulty.
A device that’s in ‘good’ condition tends to be fully functional with a working display and very little signs of use as per our T&Cs. A device in good condition will get you a much better price.
Devices that are in poor or faulty condition will generally receive a lower price.
To get an idea of the condition of your device, and without having to enter any details, you can click on the ‘condition’ tab on the device page. When you do this you’ll see a list of criteria for good, poor and faulty as well as an initial quote for devices in that condition.
